custerTurns out there is an android app that lets google voice take over the phone. Even works on a tablet.
So forget previous post - my android tablet & phone are now both completely functional one number smartphones - still provided I am within reach of wifi, which I usually am.
Still have the original ralphs grocery cell phone for when I am actually mobile - which is not very often these days.
