Conservation of Mass, Energy, and Karma?

For any of you who follow my space_wolf journal, my job took a turn for the better - due to my seniority I got to be 15/96 in choosing which of the new schedules I wanted, and I got a very good one, I now have three day weekends on a permanent basis,and they are Thursday-Friday-Saturday. It could have included Sunday but for a federal worker Sundays pay 25% more for the same work and I didn't want to lose that.

So to make up for how well that went, I've had two other disasters make up for it.

First was my computer dying and my spending four days, 200 miles of driving and over a hundred dollars trying to get it fixed without success. But I can deal with that. I can't fix the other thing that happened.

I came very close to asking for Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday off, an unpopular schedule that was actually available even to the last dozen or so people to shift bid, specifically so I could go to Maxwell's at the Argyle. I've been going sleep deprived or else taking vacation days to be a regular at this club since I discovered it four months ago and have been having a wonderful time there, despite not being able to dance.
