Flying this tonight

Was supposed to go flying in the 206 last week, but its a 1981 vintage airplane with enough problems its unflyable half the time. Te 182T is only about 5 years old and cheaper to fly anyway, though I do prefer the larger airplane if given a choice.

No flying for me today

I was sent a text message at 12:45PM that the take off time had been moved up from 6PM to 4PM, - and I got it three hours later at 3:45.

Needless to say I didn't make it, and I was replaced by someone else.

In this case I fell victim to my cheap Ralphs Grocery cell phone which I use because it costs $6.70 a month. Apparently I hit just the right combination of keys via "pocket dialing" to get it halfway through sending a text message of its own - consequently it never rang when one came in. I took it out of my pocket to tell them I was about to head down to Van Nuys, noticed the problem, and cleared off the error message - only to get three inbound texts in a row.
