In four weeks we go out to make our first vacation trip in years, mainly since I can now afford to do it. I have to go out today and get a road atlas to figure out how to do the return trip since we have a full five days to get back from Seattle and can do it in less than three, we can meander around and visit other stuff. I'll have the van go in for a tuneup and service check next weekend, and the weekend after that I'll clean it up as best as I can and start putting in the non-perishable supplies for the trip, as well as service some other equipment it has which will be important to my passenger.

Taking a 2,000 mile trip in a vehicle that gets at best 16 miles to the gallon will sting a bit unless the gas prices have come back down. But down or not, the trip is still on.
