4th of July
Jul. 5th, 2003 02:53 pmI had to work that day, and by the time I got home it was too hot to do anything except crash on the couch and listen to internet radio. I really really wish live365 hadn's instigated that login requirement to make sure people are watching their pop up ads. it's RADIO, people, put in radio ads! If I have to listen to commercials on internet radio to pay for the broadcast so be it, but for now it requires an actual computer to listen, and I just don't do it that way. But I've ranted about that often enough.
Suffice to note that Tim Fay had such a show, and made a point of interspersing one of his own announcements every 10-15 minutes informing his listeners (if there ever were any) not to buy whatever was being advertised. And his own personal hero, Michael Moore, went to great lengths on his mailing list to inform his readers how to stiff the hosting service.
We went to the usual place to watch fireworks. The view from where we were was actually pretty good, we could even see the fireworks display over Stevenson Ranch. What was sort of pissy was that the Stevenson Ranch fireworks started earlier and were much better than the display Santa Clarita put on. Not nly that, this superior display was still going on after ours finished! Well, I know where to go next year, if I want to fight for a parking spot. we could actually walk to where we saw the show last night.
When I woke up this morning at the usual 2:40 AM i was in the middle of a dream about being in a Civil Air Patrol unit that was wearing bizarre uniforms and playing Be-bop and Calypso music. Go figure.
