Oct. 8th, 2001 07:53 pmWell, today the roof got ripped off the house. Intentionally - it was s a 22 year old shingle roof that was too deteriorated to repair. Took a 6 man crew about 3 hours to tear off all the pieces of it. REALLY noisy inside the house. For the next 4 days they will be putting on the new roof - fire retardant concrete or some such. Fireproof and virtually permanent. Since brush fires are the main threat out here, this was an important fix, as well as the fact the leak in the old roof was right over the main computer in here.
When they ripped the roof off I discovered the vent for the water heater was right over the keyboard for this particular system - and everything was covered in dust & shingle fragments. In addition to which , there is a nice view of the sky right over this keyboard - bad news if it rains tonight. Not supposed to though. Sky looks clear.
